CLEANING THOSE PESKY CEILING FANS Since the weather got warmer and they are running all the time you can see the dirt building up on the fan blades. You can use a telescoping lambswool duster to remove the fuzz and lint from fans. Pay special attention to the blade edges. A curved brush made for fans can be used too to clean the top and sides at the same time. You will need to wash the blades down occasionally. The best thing to use is liquid fabric softener because it helps the blades repel dust. Mix 2/3 warm water and 1/3 liquid fabric softener together and wring out an old washcloth in the mixture. Wash down the blades well and let air dry before starting the fan back up. The softener will help eliminate the static cling that attracts the dust.
