CLEGHORN FIRE UPDATE: The fire started about 5:25pm on Saturday, August 17 in the Cajon Pass near Cleghorn Road, east of Interstate 15. The cauei is still under investigation. The fire has burned 110 acres and is 45% contained with an expected 100% containment by Sun at 8:00pm. Several agencies are involved, including: The U.S. Forest Service, CAL FIRE, San Bernardino County Fire, San Bernardino County Sheriff, CHP, CAL TRANS, BIA, Rancho Cucamonga Fire Dept, Loma Linda Fire Dept, & San Manuel Fire Dept. Resources include 14 crews, 3 water tenders, 17 engines, 2 dozers, 3 helicopters, & 1 air attack. As for weather near the fire, they are expecting a high temperature today of 97*, 20% humidity, winds in the afternoon 10-15 gust to 20 mph. The terrain the fire is burning in is steep and mostly Chaparral. Northbound I-15 was closed for approximately two hours on the evening of the 17th, causing traffic to back up to the 210 Freeway. ROAD CONDITIONS: Open: I-15 is open – the northbound right shoulder is closed – Motorists are asked to exercise caution as firefighters and equipment are working along the freeway shoulder today. Hwy 138 is open Closed: Lost Lake Day Use Area, Cleghorn Off Ramp and Cleghorn Road 2N47, & Cajon Blvd (Old Route 66) between Kenwood and Cleghorn Roads.
