CM Punk has been an important staple of WWE programming for around two years now, which makes his absence at this week’s Raw and SmackDown events a little conspicuous. Punk took some time off after WrestleMania to heal some nagging injuries, but it appears that they’ve resurfaced in recent weeks. He has shown how resilient he is in the past—he was plagued with knee issues for months prior to WrestleMania XXIX and wrestled his lengthy, epic No. 1 contendership match with John Cena back in February while sick. One still has to wonder how serious the injuries are and how much longer he can sustain his wellbeing while working the infamously hectic WWE schedule. He’s previously made allusions to the fact that he plans to retire sooner than everyone expects, could that be next year? ~Angus$haw
