CM Punk was indeed contacted by TNA, now confirmed More From WWE When CM Punk left WWE back in January, there were some that joked TNA could try and make a run at the star. Although the company as a whole is fledgling, Dixie Carter still has a lot of money at her disposal, so plausibly, it could work if all the stars aligned. Well, apparently it wasn’t as much of a joke as we all thought, because they did try to make a run. According to a report from WrestleZone, citing F4WOnline, TNA was prepared to make a very lucrative offer to the former WWE champion, the kind of offer that was given to Hulk Hogan a few years ago. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, TNA recently made an attempt to contact CM Punk, using an intermediary. It’s being said they were prepared to offer the former WWE Champion a major contract, with money in the range of what Hulk Hogan was making during his run. He would have easily been the most paid star on the roster. This makes sense. As much as people might want to laugh at this, it makes sense, definitely. With the money that Carter could get a hold of, why would she and management not want to make Punk their top star immediately. He has legitimate mainstream appeal, given his recent run in WWE. Unfortunately for TNA, though, Punk has no interest in returning to wrestling anytime soon. JUSTICE
