COBBLESTONE PROJECT and GREAT DAY FARMS WELCOME THE BABY HENS TO THE FARM —cultivating a “community without need” Now that our hunger relief program and harvest shares have ended for the 2014 season, our fresh produce production and sales will be limited to our Farm Stand. We are slowing down and have time to announce the exciting arrival of our baby chicks. These chicks may be small now, but they will soon play a vital role in our hunger relief program and farm to home harvest shares for 2015. Along with growing naturally certified fresh produce, we also feel that adding protein to the mix can balance out the nutritional needs of Northwest Arkansas. Sunday November 16, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM everyone is invited to help us welcome our new baby chicks to the Farm. Our Hens for Hunger Relief event includes fun activities such as meeting the baby hens, arts and crafts projects, riding horses, making s’mores, and checking out the farm. *Entrance for this event will be either $5 (per person), or one donation of a personal hygiene product, non-perishable food item or an art supply (per person). This event is made possible by the partnership and generosity of Great Day Farms. Their dedication to providing eggs that have received top-notch care to families and Cobblestone’s mission of creating a community without need paired perfectly together. CCF Brands, the parent company to Great Day Farms, is a sustainable company that cares for our community and distributes eggs across the United States. Also available for purchase will be our 2015 Farm to Home Harvest Shares. All purchases from Cobblestone Farm help provide hunger relief and restore dignity to our neighbors here in our community of northwest Arkansas. Our farm shares provide the necessary resources for our hunger relief program. 50% of every purchase is a donation to a 501c3. Any person choosing to purchase and donate to a family in need is a 100% tax-deductible donation. The Cobblestone Project was founded in 2008 by a small group of Northwest Arkansas families hoping to encourage a movement of people to build pathways between the needs of people in our community and those with the desire to meet those needs. The dream of the Cobblestone Project is to work toward “A Community Without Need.” Additional information about the Cobblestone Project can be found by visiting cobblestoneproject.org/initiatives/the-farm
