CODEPINK Los Angeles was out in force today for Day 3 of World-Wide Week of Action: Boycott Occupation Goods #OccupationIsUgly outside of Planet Beauty in Santa Monica, California! Concerned Los Angeles residents joined Medea Benjamin and Jodie Evans calling on the corporation Planet Beauty to get Ahava off their shelves! After being forced to leave the store, we marched down the streets to Santa Monica Place where we were met by excessive security and forced off the premises. We spread the word about the true face of Ahava cosmetics, and many passer-bys said Los Angeles won’t buy Ahava! Ahava promises “Beauty Secrets from the Dead Sea.” But the real secret is an ugly truth—its products are manufactured in illegal Israeli settlement of Mitzpe Shalem in the Occupied West Bank that violates international law. Join us, as American residents, in standing against the occupation of Gaza and the West Bank!
