COLD BLEAK MORNING ON THE WAY. Morning all. Well I am afraid that this morning shows little respite from our cold bleak weather of late. Showers, some heavy are currently affecting the region from the south, bringing snow down to 400-500m. These are effecting a relatively small part of the region, with South Canterbury recieving a few ligh drizzle patches. Showers may move into parts of North Canterbury also, but the main areas to be affected are pretty much Ashburton north to about Amberley, including Banks Peninsula. South Canterbury: Highs of around 7-8deg with cloudy skies, maybe the odd sunny patch, 1-3mm of rain. Mid Canterbury: Highes of around 7-8deg with cloudy skies and frequent showers easing in afternoon. Snow to 400m, 3-7mm of rain. North Canterbury: Highes of 8-9deg, with patchy cloud and the odd shower. Snow to 400-500m with 2-4mm of rain. Thats all for now. Back later with a cold showery outlook. -Josh
