COLEMAN BRIDGE ALERT If you were thinking that Friday (that would be today 3/14) would be a day that the Coleman Bridge would not open, well, we are the bearers of bad news. Please dont hold it against us as we are only the messengers. It seems that 1830 hours (6:30 p.m.) will be the perfect time to open the bridge, according to the people who decide when to open the bridge. Were telling you, were going to print t-shirts with a photo of the bridge open from a vantage point behind a long line of cars and have on the front Free Gloucester Motorists! Then on the back well have a picture of the toll booths. Think we could sell a few of those in Gloucester? Enjoy the weekend. Theres no snow in the forecast ... until possibly next week. Seriously. The National Weather Service says theres a chance of snow in the Monday/Tuesday time frame. We look at a map and it says were on the same parallel as San Francisco, Calif. And excuse us but has San Francisco been held hostage by a series of snowstorms this winter? We think not! Have kids in San Francisco missed seven days of school due to snow this winter? We think not. Are we not closer to the Bahamas than San Francisco? Were pretty sure we are! So in addition to printing Free Gloucester Motorists t-shirts we are now going to print Free Gloucester Beachgoers t-shirts and have a photoshopped picture of some of our bathing beauties and hunks all slathered up in sunscreen and with shades on laying out -- in a blizzard.
