COLLEGE- A government gold mine? Over the last few years I have noticed politicians really pushing the importance of college. Kind of on the heels of my post yesterday comparing the Government to the Mafia I asked myself, whats their angle? Im not stupid enough to buy in to their love and passion for eduction.... So I looked into it. Now the mob always liked to pad there bets. Whether it was point shaving, fixing games etc... Anything to guarantee return on there investment. Well the current government love affair with Americans sending their kids to college was a tricky one. Until it finally dawned on me what the government is getting out of this. See I looked a few articles on the costs of college and wow!! Over the last 5 years college tuition has gone up 60 -80%!!! Thats in 5 YEARS, in Arizona 77%, Georgia 75%, Washington State 70% and on and on! Now unemployment remains high and American median income has fallen. So lets add this up the cost to go to college skyrocketing, Salaries falling? So this is where it gets good. The government found a cash cow of UNBELIEVABLE proportions here. All they need to do is approve loans with higher interest and to go one step further work out payment plans that will take in effect what the kid makes coming out of college. Kid makes a bunch, GOVERNMENT gets a bunch! :) Kid makes a little GOVERNMENT gets a little, Kid cant find a job, heres the best part GOVERNMENT still gets paid and the government spends $0 in sales and marketing on this. Americans dream of little Billy or Suzy going to College. In fact in society many people look down on those who didnt go to a college. The government doesnt have to do ONE THING to keep this racket going! All they need to do is make sure colleges continue to raise tuition and they back that up with HUGE loans and BINGO!! The Government has Billy and Suzy giving them cash for the next 20- 30 years! They might as well have them bring it in cash in little envelopes just like their old counterparts the Mafia. The U.S. Government learned well from the mob and they sure have applied it in ways the mob could have only dreamed!! You know John Gotti is rolling in his grave saying THOSE SOBs that was MY IDEA!!!
