Call 845-365-0720 New York City, New York, June 9th, 2014: In Celebrating Anita Gillettes fifty-year career, she will be sharing candid stories of her relationships with some of Broadway and Hollywoods brightest talents - From composers Jule Styne and Irving Berlin to Ethel Merman, Burt Lancaster and beyond. She will be telling these stories to Richard Skipper of Richard Skipper Celebrates! who interviews celebrities by blog and in a live setting such as the Spiral Theater Studio to get the essence of the artists complete body of work. You will find that Anita paints a vivid portrait of the tail-end of the Golden Age on Broadway, while also shining a light on her lauded stage work with Neil Simon, Woody Allen, Mel Brooks and many of the great comedy and musical writers of all time. \ Anitas Broadway credits include Carnival!, All American, Mr. President, Kelly, Jimmy, Guys and Dolls, Dont Drink the Water, Cabaret, Theyre Playing Our Song, Brighton Beach Memoirs, and Chapter Two, for which she was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play. Anita Gillette has been lauded for her stage work: she received the 1960 Theatre World Award for her performance in Russell Pattersons Sketchbook. In 2012, she played Rose Fitzgerald (Mom) in Christmas with the Fitzgeralds, written, directed and starring Edward Burns. Anita Gillettes first television appearance was on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1963. She joined the cast of The Edge of Night in 1967, leaving the next year. Miss Gillette was also a participant in the heady game show days of television in the 1960s and 70s, Gillettes biggest exposure on a national scale came as a celebrity guest on various New York City-based game shows, mostly those produced by Goodson-Toddman and Bob Stewart. She served as a semi-regular on the syndicated Whats My Line?,Match Game, and on the various Pyramid series. Miss Gillette has currently kept a busy schedule, with frequent TV and movies roles. Recurring characters included Joan Gamble in the TV series Normal, Ohio. Betty in The War at Home; Lily Flynn, the mother of criminalist Catherine Willows in four episodes of CSI; and the mother of Liz Lemon in two episodes of 30 Rock. Anita Gillette is also a known for her cabaret work, at 54 Below, The Metropolitan Room and other boites in New York City : Anita Gillette Sings Cabaret! On Wednesday, June 11th at 7:30PM, Anita Gillette and Richard Skipper will sit down at the Spiral Theater Studio to discuss Anitas career and the journey it has taken her to this point in her life.
