COMMENCEMENT DATES – 2015/2016 NEW FIRST YEARS (2013 K.C.S.E CANDIDATES, KUCCPS APPLICANTS) Send by emailPDF version COMMENCEMENT DATES – 2015/2016 ACADEMIC YEAR The University of Nairobi wishes to inform all first year (2013 K.C.S.E.) students that the commencement date for the 2015/2016 ACADEMIC YEAR IS 15TH SEPTEMBER, 2014 except for students in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) who will be reporting on 5TH JANUARY, 2015. These include C01: Bachelor of Arts, D33: Bachelor of Commerce, G34: Bachelor of Laws, N06: Bachelor of Arts (Anthropology), X74: Bachelor of Economics and X75: Bachelor of Economics and statistics The list of names and notification letter are available on the University of Nairobi website uonbi.ac.ke 2. LETTER OF OFFER The letter of offer will be posted to the address that you provided during application for admission. Should the address have changed, please contact the office of the Academic Registrar on the main campus, University of Nairobi in person or through Box 30197-00100, Nairobi or tel: 0202314296, 3318262 ext. 28117, 28280, 28213, 28285. 3. TUITION FEES (i) ALL STUDENTS except Diploma students shall pay tuition Fees of Kshs. 16,000/= per year, before or on the registration day, made up as follows: Kshs. 8,000/- Direct Charge for which needy students may apply for Bursary from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) Kshs. 8,000/- for which one may pay direct or apply for a loan from HELB. NB: Visit the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) website: helb.co.ke for online loan application (ii) Diploma students shall pay Kshs. 86,000/- plus all other additional related expenses payable by the first years. 4. OTHER ADDITIONAL RELATED EXPENSES FIRST YEARS (FRESHERS) Computer Laboratory fees - 3000/- p.a. Caution Money - 2000/- (once) Examination fees - 3000/- p.a. Medical fees - 2000/- p.a. ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING For those students who wish to use the accommodation facilities in the University’s Halls of Residence, they should apply online through smis.uonbi.ac.ke by September 5, 2014 ACCOMMODATION FEES Details of accommodation account number shall be availed ONLINE to ONLY those students who will have been allocated rooms Note: Meals are available at the various student cafeterias within the respective Colleges/Campuses on a Pay-As-You-Eat cafeteria system at an estimated cost of Kshs. 18,000.00 per year. 7. BOOKS Students are advised to apply for a loan from H.E.L.B. for up to a maximum of Kshs. 9,000/- in respect of books and stationery. 8. All students are informed that all fees and other charges are payable at the commencement of the semester they are due. No student shall be allowed into lectures, examinations or participate in activities which have not been fully paid for. 9. REGISTRATION Students are deemed to have been registered upon payment of the fees due, gone through a registration process at their respective Colleges/Campuses and signed the nominal roll.
