COMPELLING CASE FOR MASS ACTION Editors Digest With Itai Dzamara EVERYTHING has become blatantly clear now, about the national situation, and it is time to make clear positions and pronouncements. There should not be any debate now, even among the most brainwashed Zanu PF zealots, about the fact that Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF party have totally failed the nation. Furthermore, even the most optimists will have seen that the failed regime just does not have both the capacity and backing to be able to solve the crisis. Mugabe and his Zanu PF gang have remained headstrong, and refused to listen to reason over their disastrous ways of plunging the nation into the fix of crisis of legitimacy. It has remained an evil regime, devoid of direction and proper, coherent national agenda. It is not a civilised leadership, which can engender confidence even in its own loyal followers. The regime has exhausted all its dirty tricks and come to a dead end. Right now, the agents of chaos and mayhem are on the loose, busy destroying homes and other structures in areas such as Chitungwiza and Ruwa. The same regime has been the agent of establishing such structures, with government ministers and Zanu PF top officials using the underhand operations for political expediency and personal aggrandisement. For the regime to prioritise unleashing chaos in such forms now, simply exposes the unrepentant nature of Mugabe and his gang. The message they are sending is that they remain an arrogant and selfish outfit, intently bent on keeping the people under the spell of poverty and oppression. Most importantly, the demonstration of barbarism and arrogance by the Mugabe regime bears serious effect on perception, especially on the international scene. Consequently, the hopes of Mugabe to cheat through some elements on the international scene, and obtain financial rescue packages become seriously undermined by his arrogance and barbarism. It, inevitably, means one thing - the national crisis shall continue to worsen. Now, that is the issue, and question, of whether Zimbabweans should continue folding their hands and watch their lives being urinated upon by Mugabe, his wife and their crowd? The only reasonable answer is NO! Zimbabweans do not owe Mugabe anything, that they should remain under his bondage of failure, abuse and tyranny. Neither does the nation owe Zanu PF anything, that it should continue holding everyone to ransom. The people have tried to be patient for a long time, yet only watching the horror of an arrogant regime returning brutality for the national hand peace, plundering the country and entrenching poverty as well as suffering. The Zanu PF regime has spurned opportunities offered by the people, towards reformation, reconciliation, revival of the economy and making Zimbabwe to work again under a legitimate leadership. Instead, Mugabe and his regime have chosen to keep the nation in a state of political chaos, violation of even the constitution and, resultantly, economic disaster. Any normal person should be clear that this has to stop. And, it is the responsibility of Zimbabweans to stop this. To even imagine even two more years of Mugabe and Zanu PFs abuse and mismanagement is blatant contempt towards the people of Zimbabwe. For the regime to try and continue both intimidating and fooling people into accepting the national disaster, is just mischievous hypocrisy and arrogance. Characters such as Emmanuel Makandiwa - who jumped onto the stage this week with a stupid political statement masked as a prophecy - shall face the judgement of the people of Zimbabwe for their hypocrisy and opportunistic mischief. Oh yes, without beating about the bush, time has come for the people of Zimbabwe to stand up and rescue their lives and future from the shackles of Zanu PFs evil and failure. It is entirely the peoples right to protest against the illegitimate and failed regime, en masse. It is the peoples responsibility to put an end to the vicious cycle of failure and poverty, and start a new path for future generations. How the regime chooses to respond to peoples protests and demands for an end to this madness, is entirely up to it. The threat of brutality and Makandiwas bloodshed is not bigger than the overdue need for Zimbabweans to come out of this hell. Yes, Zimbabweans have had enough, and must stand up to protest against Mugabe and his evil regime.
