CONCERNED VETERANS FOR AMERICA CVA QUAD CITIES CHAPTER FEB 15/22, 2014 MEETING MINUTES Pledge of Allegiance by the chapter President Opening Prayer by Jerry Capps The agenda for CVA Quad Cities is as follows: Pledge of allegiance Opening prayer Chain of Command structure The Quad Citied Concerned Veterans for America chapter will structure similar to the military. We will have 5 squads for one platoon. Five platoons for one company. Each squad will have 5 members with one squad leader for a total of 6 members. Each platoon will have 5 squads with one platoon leader for a total of 31 members. Each company will have 5 platoons with 2 company leaders for a total of 127 members. We will meet once a month and it will be the responsibility of the leaders to ensure that the information gets to all members. To be squad leaders and platoon leaders. Members can be randomly assigned to each squad or squad leaders can recruit their own members. We need 30 members of the Quad Cities chapter to be available for training by national. Training will cover what national expects from us and what ways we can make our voices heard. Bill is contacting other Veterans groups to get them to come under our umbrella Mickey Miller, mother to John Stevens (US Marine), who suffered several heart attack in the Phillappines, was present and gave a brief summary about what is happening concerning John. Congresswoman Sherry Bustos would not talk to Johns mother concerning John and offered NO help. More members need to show up at meetings. Henry Ybarra asked if we could set up a booth at a gun show at Mississippi Valley fairgrounds. Bill will check with national. The dates are March 7, 8 and 9. Look for an e mail about when the next meeting will be. Only one (1) meeting will be conducted per month from here on and it will be on the same day and time every month. Additional Minutes for Feb 22, 2014 meeting Pledge of Allegiance and prayer by President Bill Kirkland. President Bill Kirkland has contacted CVA National HQ about a recruiting table to join CVA at a local gun show at Mississippi Valley fairgrounds and is awaiting their decision. Or go on line to Concerned Veterans for America and see what this organization is about. Please be an active member. We need your active support or this effort to make a change for veterans will go away. Next meeting will be the last Saturday in March at the Moline American Legion on 15th street.
