CONFIRMATION: The WARMING STATION FOR THIS WEEKEND will be held on SUNDAY, FEB 2nd, from 8pm to 8am ONLY!!!!!! The location is 1st Congregational Christian Church, 1240 Clinton Ave., Irvington, NJ. This decision was based on the availability of volunteers to ensure that everyone is safe, but we could still use additional help on Sunday. This location sleeps more than the others, so extra hands would surely help. IF YOU HAVE COMMITTED TO FRIDAY OR SATURDAY NIGHT, PLEASE CONSIDER GIVING SOME TIME ON SUNDAY so that we are guaranteed our best night yet. If not, we certainly understand and hope that you will stay tuned to our page for the opportunity to volunteer at the next opening. Fortunately, the weather forecast for the weekend is not brutally cold, but we ask that you join us in praying that law enforcement officials will have compassion for our homeless brothers and sisters on Saturday and Sunday. We SINCERELY APPRECIATE each of you for your support and willingness to help to date, and we hope we can continue to count on you in the future. It appears that we will have a reprieve for at least a week of fairly decent weather. But chances are we have not seen the last of single digit nights. With that in mind, we are STILL ACCEPTING DONATIONS of material goods at Truth Community Outreach Center, 571 Central Ave., Newark, NJ from 9am to 9pm daily. Appointments must be made for Saturday drop-offs. Monetary donations are also accepted at the link below. This reprieve will afford us the time to be better prepared for the next frigid night.
