The Grizzlies are proud to announce that the sale of the Gastonia Grizzlies from previous owners Ken and Bette Silver to Jesse Cole, is official! Ken and Bette Silver were unbelievable owners who helped keep baseball in Gastonia for the last 13 years! Jesse Cole came on as the General Manager in 2007 and became the Managing Partner in 2011. His passion for providing the best entertainment in the community has helped grow the Grizzlies success over the past seven years. Weve enjoyed our time in Gastonia and plan on spending more nights at the ballpark with our children and grandchildren as fans! said Bette Silver. Ken Silver added, We couldnt imagine selling the team to anyone other than Jesse. Weve become so close, it feels like were keeping it in the family! Cole added, Ken and Bette are truly two of the most amazing people Ive ever met and I am so appreciative of them for giving me the chance to run their team fresh out of college back in 2007. Im sure that first year when I told them the players would be dancing, wed be having Grandma Beauty Pageants, and serving Donut Dogs and Donut Burgers, they probably thought I was crazy. They let me see everything through and for that, I am truly indebted. Cole plans to grow the team even more by adding full time staff and focusing on the development of a new downtown ballpark. The team has drawn more attendance and broken records each year since Coles start. On the field, the team has been performing exceptionally well after winning the 2011 League Championship and making it to playoffs each year since.
