CONGRATULATIONS TO HUGH LAWSON....VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH nominated by East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action. Hugh is the Volunteer Leader with Friday Night Live (FNL) Youth Club in Kirkintilloch Baptist Church for 5 years! I love volunteering at FNL. I am proud to be part of such a large youth club where lots of young people choose to come along to each week, to a safe Christian environment. I think it is important that we provide young people with great memories for life that will be a positive influence on them as they grow older. Its always nice to speak with older people who used to come to FNL when they were young. Sometimes volunteering at FNL can be hard word but providing a safe, fun and exciting environment for young people is worth all the effort. Volunteering is a great way to get to know other people and to learn about yourself and your abilities while working with them. I would recommend volunteering to everyone! I am inspired by the other volunteers that make FNL happen. Each member of the team bring a unique set of skills and I learn so much from them all.
