CONGRATULATIONS!! The Letcher County Central Boys & Girls Cross Country Teams are Region Champions. Both teams won the region on Saturday afternoon at Fairview High School in Ashland in the KHSAA Class 2A Region 7 Cross Country Meet. The Boys were led by Chase Cates who was Region Runner up and is now ranked in the top 20 in the state. The Boys that were named all region and placed in the top 8 were Sr Chase Cates, Sr Dylan Burton, Jr Bobby McKenzie, Jr Trevor Wayne and So Judson Collins. The Girls were led by Keisha Balthis who placed 3rd overall. The Girls that were named all region and placed in the top 8 were Sr Keisha Balthis, Sr Leann Bryant, So Ally Damron and Freshman Grayson Collier. They will compete this weekend in the KHSAA State Cross Country Meet at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. The boys will run at 11:15 and the girls at 12 noon.
