ARTICLE FROM SKN VIBES Who would have thought that this little girl from ‘De Village’ would one day grow up to cross the stage to accept her MBA in Finance? But Mrs. Samantha Huggins-Welsh did just that by beating the odds that were stacked against her; she was afforded the opportunity to cross the stage at Monroe College’s 80th Commencement ceremony to accept her MBA in Finance with a 4.0 GPA on Saturday, June 8th, 2013. This was the best birthday gift she could have given herself. During her time at Monroe she was also inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society for outstanding business students. Mrs. Huggins-Welsh would love to extend her outmost gratitude to The Almighty God for His strength and wisdom during her college years; her wonderful and sacrificial parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony and Sandra Huggins for all their love, hard work and support. To her husband, Mr. Troy Welsh for his unconditional love and support. To her daughter Maicaiah Welsh for opening her eyes; to her brothers and sisters, Pastor Leroy Matthew and the members of the People’s Evangelistic Center, her friends and well wishers for their support, encouraging words and prayers. They were greatly appreciated. Mrs. Huggins-Welsh vows to continue to endeavor to be a positive Ambassador for St. Kitts & Nevis as she continues to strive for excellence in every aspect of her life. She would also like to implore the youths of St. Kitts and Nevis to always remember that it doesn’t matter where they begin in life but their determination and perseverance that will give them the finish line that they desire for their life.
