His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, we the members of the above forum congratulate you for being elected the Chairman of Ecowas at the 44th Ordinary Summit. We deem this an important appointment coming at a time that the Sub-Region is going through vigorous Socio-Political, as well as economic transformation. Your appointment affirms the respect other leaders in the Sub-Region have for you and their outright acceptance that you are really the constitutionally elected President of the Republic. The current world economic order demands leaders with vision and foresight and it is not surprising that your peers unanimously elected you to lead the Sub-Region and to state our case on the global stage. His Excellency, reading through proceedings from your meetings especially on the EPA issue, we foresee challenging times ahead both local and externally but we know for sure that God will solidly stand by you and offer you the needed strength and wisdom to administer the affairs of the Region with dexterity. Like our good books say, “a prophet is not honoured in his country. This appointment attests to this biblical adage. Your peers who look at your performance without partisan lenses have indeed made a statement through your election, that you are really doing marvelous job for your nation and the Region. His Excellency, we the members of this forum are really proud of you just like any other Ghanaians and we shall continue to offer you the needed support to accomplish the task ahead. We are aware that you would definitely meet certain challenges from persons whose thinking contradicts that of progressives in the country and they will adopt all kinds of Machiavellian tactics to demean this great achievement, but you must always remember that the best persons to mark your scripts are God and the positive minded Ghanaians but not the naysayers and doomsday crew. His Excellency, ending our message we will urge you to stand firm as youve exhibited all this while, dont allow unnecessary disruptions to pull back your legs as millions of Africans on the Sub-Region are looking up to you to better their situations through effective deliberations and policies and that must be your focus.
