CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING GODS WORD AS SUPREME TRUTH Most people will not accept Gods word, the Bible. as the truth...or if they do, it will always be a token belief [allowing rejection and choosing whatever they want that is favorable to them...in a progressive manner] but very, very few will ever believe that Gods word, the Bible, is the one and only truth. If you are one of those very few, then be grateful because all people do not believe as you do. It means that God has revealed it to you or you would not believe as you do. When a person is saved [born again] every thing changes; I mean everything. The new believer goes through a process called sanctification whereby he is converted from the old way to a new way. The old life passes away and everything becomes new, everything. [2 Corinthians 5:17] If it does not and you claim to be a Christian, then your claim is false. A Christians priorities change, his thinking changes, his attitude about telling the truth or lying changes, his friendships change, his experiences in life become much more meaningful and significant, his destiny changes and he knows it; his opposition to evil increases and his enemies increase in number, and his loves the change...in fact he is overjoyed; he no longer is overly concerned about the affairs of this life or what people think or say about him. All of that becomes highly irrelevant. Everything becomes new. So, what [all] remains is all false to him; the religious exercises, phony religion, dead religion, spiritually dead people without light, truth, and insight, dead preachers who have not been born again preaching to dead people who never read Gods word to find out for themselves. Everything changes. So, what does the world think of all of this? They do not give it a thought or if they do, they deny and hate it. Long ago they accepted what is false as the truth and they do not have the ability or insight to tell the difference between what is a lie and what is true...because they are dead spiritually and totally blinded. But, they maintain that they can both see and hear even though they cannot. The truth of it is that they are dead in trespasses and sins and do not know it. [Ephesians 2:1] Can we change them? No, we can do nothing for them....except to tell them that they need the Lord Jesus who is their only hope to escape this bondage of sin. That is where the power of the gospel takes hold if God so chooses. My testimony or yours does not have that power; only the gospel which God uses to awake lost people has that power. Never make the mistake, as I have often done, of thinking your testimony has the power that they gospel has because it does not. Rejecting Gods word lies along side of the root of unbelief. Until such time as God reveals that to you and you embrace it will all of your heart, you will die in your sins without hope. God help you to see it.
