CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR Position Description The Monmouth County Long Term Recovery Group is seeking a Construction Estimator to provide recovery services to families and individuals impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Basic Function Work to assist homeowners repair and rebuild their primary residents destroyed and damaged by Hurricane Sandy. Conduct site assessments to determine the extent of storm damage, estimate the cost of repairs and develop comprehensive scope of work assessments. Salary: $50,000 + Benefits (1 Year Position Subject to Grant Funding) Position Description • Conduct home inspections and prepare detailed,itemized cost estimates for construction repairs including materials and labor if not voluntary • Develop comprehensive scope of work assessments describing the extent of work necessary to return homes to a safe, sanitary, secure and functional state • Provide scale drawings of areas damaged with locations noted of work to be completed • Identify potential hazards and provide information on the presence of mold and other dangerous conditions including lead paint or asbestos that require remediation, abatement and proper disposal • Solicit competitive bids from subcontractors for masonry, HVAC, electric and plumbing • Secure all components needed to complete home repair projects including timely acquisition of materials, equipment and tools in partnership with donations committee, case management and unmet needs committee as needed • Complete all essential documentation and reports including home repair agreements • Manage and control building tools, and equipment • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Committee and MCLTRG Director Qualifications • 3 years verifiable experience in general construction or construction estimating • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and HVAC • Working knowledge of local and International Building Code • Ability to distinguish storm related damage from deferred maintenance. • Knowledge of the Monmouth County community and current elevation/flood plain levels • Must have flexibility to work some night or weekend hours • Must possess valid NJ Drivers License with a good driving record, as significant travel throughout Monmouth County is required Interested candidates should email a cover letter and resume to [email protected]
