CONTRACT WORKERS! Did you ever meet one of them. They usually sit next to you, do same work, except that they make less money than you and have no benefits. One of these people is my friend. He was laid off while in his fifties. Ten years went by and he still didnt find a permanent job. Last September he finally found a job for reasonable pay. On his first day there, he wanted to treat himself to a salad. Went to the lobby cafeteria and prepared himself a nice salad. Handed the cashier a 10 dollar bill. She told him that they dont accept cash, just Master card and no other cards. The people in line became angry at him for holding the line. The cashier took away his salad and threw it away. My friend went back to his seat and found out that he was written up. As of that moment, every time he saw his manager walking in his direction hed go into a panic attack and think hes going to be fired. Finally it was Christmas season and the permanent employees were invited to the Christmas party. Not him, even though he worked in the same office. In addition, everybody got a present. Not him. Tears started rolling down his face. At the end, the manager brought him a small package and also a letter. He knew what the letter was, but like a child, he rushed opening the present. It was a candle. What kind of a present was this? And in which trash can he found it? He got up and went into the street. At 60, he realized he has no money for his next month rent, will have to live with his mother which he liked a lot, but at this moment he wished she was dead and he didnt have to tell her he was laid off again. I also have a resolution for 2015. I want to help more people.
