CONWAY, Ark. _ University of Central Arkansas junior quarterback Ryan Howard added two more national awards to his haul this week when he was named national Offensive Player of the Week by The Sports Network and by College Sports Madness. Howard was also an honorable mention selection by College Football Performance Awards. Howard, from Vestavia Hills, led the Bears to a convincing 49-31 over ninth-ranked Sam Houston State in UCAs season finale on Saturday at First Security Field at Estes Stadium. Howard threw four touchdown passes in the first half as the Bears rolled to a 42-10 halftime lead. Howard, who took over for injured starter Wynrick Smothers in the seventh game of the season, completed 24 of 36 passes for 349 yards with no interceptions Saturday, leading the Bears to 490 yards of total offense. For the season, Howard completed 144 of 234 passes for 1,848 yards. He threw 18 touchdown passes with just four interceptions and completed 61.5 percent of his passes.
