COPING WITH THE LOSE OF TWO OF MCCOOLS ONLY SONS Coping with the lose of two of McCool’s only Sons. We were just beginning to breath again after the lose of Clay Real when we received a call at three thirty in the morning to inform us that my nephew Ben had been killed in a motorcycle wreck earlier that evening. Trying to make sense of these tragic loses is difficult, if not impossible to do. Ben was not just a nephew to me we were much closer than that, he for some reason looked up to me a great deal and deeply cared about my opinion of him. I loved him as my own and worried about him like my own. Ben lived with us for a while during his families relocation from Washington back to Nebraska and we became close during that time. This came easy due to the fact we were both interested in the same things, bow hunting, fishing and just the outdoors in general. This being said we now have to find a way to first grieve and then to move on. In my experience I have to often seen this type of lose destroy parents and other family members, they live the rest of their lives afraid to enjoy life. They feel guilty about loving and enjoying life, and live in fear of another tragedy or death of a loved one. Although we may not understand Gods plan this is certainly not what he had in mind, turning the tragic lose of a young family member into the waste of several other lives. Instead I believe it is just the opposite, he wants us to love with more passion for him as well as our friends and family and the things we enjoy. To make us realize how precious every second he gives us here on earth is, that our tomorrows are not guaranteed . We owe it to our loved ones on earth and our father in Heaven to love, laugh and enjoy this life that he gave us, for it is only a speck in time compared to eternity in Heaven with our Creator and our loved ones that have passed before us. I believe that Gods plan is for us to live our lives in a manner pleasing to him, loving, laughing and enjoying his love and the love of others. We will all certainly grieve and dearly miss our loved ones, but don’t forget to love and laugh again, that is certainly what Clay and Ben would want as well as our Father and Creator. Ben I love you and will miss you more than you will ever know so until we meet in paradise keep my shots true and the big boys coming my way. Clay I did not know you as well as Ben but some one very close to me loved you both very dearly so please be her guardian angle, help her to make good decisions, so that she too can be with you again, someday in paradise. -Uncle Jeff
