CORPORATE MANDATE Believers need to hear and heed the words of Jesus, spoken to His apostles as they were being sent: “He who receives you receives Me; and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.” Some individual churches and home fellowships are being gathered into apostolic networks with their primary focus, fellowship, and service within those spheres. Others prefer to remain “us four, and no more.” Both choices result in more compounding of denominating divisions furthering the problematic issues of a house divided within cities and regions. “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself that house cannot stand.” There is no new covenantal apostolic directive or example that makes a place for any division in the body of Christ in any municipality. The church is constitutionally one globally and is to be functionally one geographically. However, networking within municipalities facilitates the expression of gifts and the equipping of ministries for the fullest functionality. Equippers are also to be sent from city to city as the Holy Spirit leads. They should bear the credentials of both accountability and fruitfulness. The purpose of God is thwarted where the church fails to manifest its oneness, and there is no Spirit-inspired and Spirit-led citywide governance and strategy for incarnational and missional activity. Satan is identified in Scripture as the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. Unless and until the church embraces this reality we will continue to miss the point, major in minors, and allow the urgent to rob us of the important. Blessings Trev
