CORRIDORS OF POWER: Doctors and nurses at Nairobi Hos- pital are angry with Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko whom they accuse of breaching it’s rules and regulations. Sonko’s wife has been admitted to the hospital for the last week. However, the Senator has ignored the rules about visiting hours. He has gone to the extent of bringing in a mattress to sleep on the floor in his wife’s private ward so that he is there in case she needs him. The staff are at a loss on what to do with the man. While they understand how distraught he may be about his spouse’s health, the staff are concerned that Sonko’s actions might expose the hospital to allegations that it practises discrimination!
