COUNTDOWN IS ON FOR DUMFRIES The countdown is on for next weeks Under-18 World Championship (Division 2A) in Dumfries. The IIHF tournament gets under way at Dumfries Ice Bowl on Monday 24th March and runs until Sunday 30th March 2014. GB will host Croatia, Korea, Lithuania, Netherlands and Romania in the six-team tournament, with the winners promoted to Division 1B. The tournament comes on the back of the successful hosting of the Under-20 World Championship (Division 1B) in Dumfries back in December. IHUK general secretary, Andy French, said: It is very exciting that we are on the verge of another tournament in the UK. Dumfries is a fantastic venue and the previous tournaments have been very well received. We had great support from the local people and from further afield at the Under-20s in December, and we are sure that will be the case again this month.
