COURTESY POST!!! Meet Lucky! Lucky was dumped at the Dollar General store in Manchester, TN on one of the coldest days we have had so far. A nice lady named Anita found him curled up in a ball sleeping in the cart collector area. She knew she could not just leave him there so she took him home with her. We was then contacted by a mutual friend asking could we help find this puppy a home or rescue. Of course we said yes. I called the lady who found Lucky and she and her children had already fell in love with him and wanted to keep him. This was wonderful news to hear. Lucky was not acting like a normal puppy would though. He had no energy and was not eating much. So Anita took him to the vet. When Anita took Lucky to the vet Dr. Hackett told her Lucky has a condition where his intestines and bladder are on the outside of his pelvic area. Lucky only had a thin layering of skin protecting them and it is all twisted up, like a hernia would be. Lucky would need surgery to correct this issue. Lucky also had pneumonia and was put on antibiotics so Dr. Hackett wanted to clear that up before he did surgery. Anita did not have the $200 estimate to cover surgery so waiting was her only choice anyways. Today Lucky took a turn for the worse. He needed the surgery now. When Anita got him to Dr. Hackett they took him immediately into surgery. This is where help is needed. The surgery to correct the hernia and also neuter recommended by Dr. Hackett while he was already under will cost $200. The Coffee County Humane Society has offered to cover $100 of this cost. We need to help raise the other $100. Lucky can be picked up this evening but bill must be paid in full first. If you could possible help with the $100 please call or stop by Dr. Hacketts office and donate. Just tell them it is for Lucky. Hackett Animal Clinic 2027 McArthur St, Manchester, TN 37355 (931) 728-7580 We know that $100 is a lot of money but if a few people make a small donation it will add up in no time. Lets help Luckys family get him back home today so he can recover in the arms of those who love him. I just want to say that I am so thankful Anita was kind enough to take Lucky in when he was dumped like trash in freezing weather. Lucky would have died a painful death if it were not for Anita. Shame on whoever dumped him. He is such a adorable little fella. Thank God for those who help the helpless.
