CPSP finally answered the most Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding FCPS Part-1 Exam... :D Q: What is FCPS Part-1?? Ans: FCPS Part-1 is a highly standardized exam that is conducted by CPSP thrice every year in order to gauge a doctors clinico-theoretical proficiency and to evaluate his suitability for the training program. Apart from that, it also serves to earn a hefty amount for CPSP every 4 months. Q: Who can appear in FCPS Part-1?? Ans: Every medical grad who has completed one year of his house job and has the ability to put up with sheer nonsense for 8 hours can appear. Most of our grads develop this ability during their house job, luckily.. Talking about luck, sometimes this is the only thing that will get you through. Q: What is the structure of Exam?? Ans: The exam consists of 200 Multiple Choice Questions.. The questions might appear illogical sometimes followed by completely weird answers. But trust us this is what distinguishes the worthy from the unworthy.. Q: How do u compare FCPS Part-1 Exam with International Exams like USMLE, PLAB and AMC? Ans: Even whilst having the same structure, we can openly claim that FCPS Part-1 Exam is much superior to other examination systems (like USMLE) in 3 ways: 1. In FCPS Part-1 Exam you never get sufficient data in a scenario to work up the answer. This is what truly evaluates the competence of the candidate and serves as a test of fire for his nerves. 2. Apart from testing our candidates ability to think, we also test his Memory by putting in questions like the weight of prostate gland, the length of humerus and the incidence of lichen planus. 3. Like no other Examination system on earth, the FCPS Part-1 Exam judges the Intuition of the candidate. By sometimes putting two correct answers in an MCQ, we leave it to the candidate to guess which answer is in the key. Q: What do I need to clear FCPS Part-1 Exam?? Ans: No one has ever been able to figure that out. And we dont know either. But evidence suggests that all you require is a little hard work, a bit of luck, some nerve and 2-3 attempts maybe. Q: What do I need to study in order to pass the Exam?? Ans: It all depends on you. Most people go for revision books. Some refer to textbooks.
