****CROWD COMPLAIN CONCEPT : Street Light Issue solved in 72 hours**** This is with Reference to my post of 1st March (https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=10153890333540111&set=a.10151090313565111.776925.824640110&type=1&stream_ref=10). My friend Tarun Agarwal lodged an online complaint (Complaint # W066163 ) on GHMCs online portal (210.212.212.123/ghmc) on 1st Feb with a request to install new street lights in the street beside Cresent Majestic building and Hanuman temple at R.K Puram. No Action was taken by officials even after a month. We wanted to take the issue to the next level through Crowd Complaints. This issue was posted on Facebook and friends were requested to lodge a complaint and send an SMS to the officials. Around 10 complaints were lodged by different individuals and text messages were sent by multiple people to the officials concerned. Within 2 days, the officer in-charge contacted us on 3rd March and promised action. The Officer was very uncomfortable with the way we were lodging multiple complaints and sending text messages to his superiors(including the commissioner of GHMC). He was saying: This is not the way to get things done. He installed new street lights on 3rd March itself :-) Looks like the text messages and multiple complaints have put a lot of pressure on him and he finally had to act. And this is exactly what we need to do. Make the non-performing officials uncomfortable. Escalate the issue to superiors and create noise. Involve multiple people to lodge complaints on the same issue. And this is not the first time we have solved issues using the crowd Complaint concept.
