CSUN, Chicana/o Studies Department, Tenure Track Position. Qualifications: Thorough knowledge and understanding of Chicana/o Studies as an interdisciplinary area of study with a focus on Environmental Justice in Chicana/o/Latina/o communities. PhD in Geography or Environmental Studies, Urban And Regional Planning or Ethnic Studies, emphasis on Chicana/o or Latina/o Studies, or Chicana/o Studies required. Requires expertise in one or more of the following specific areas: toxic exposure, access to natural resources, food security, and the impacts of climate change. Preference given to candidates who have developed or intend to develop research projects based in the Southwest and indicate ability to develop new courses and a new facet in the Chicana/o Studies curriculum. The candidate will demonstrate ability to effectively (1) teach a diverse student population and (2) to link one’s research to teaching. Grant writing experience also highly desirable.
