CULTURAL DIARY 2014 edition of the Carnival of Carnivals in the Seychelles is ready for its opening ceremony this coming Friday 25th April The 2014 edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria, baptised by the International Press as the Carnival of Carnivals will be officially launched this coming Friday the 25th April in Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles. Confirmation from the Seychelles states that this year some 26 International Delegations are flying to these mid-ocean islands for this years edition of the carnival that remains unique because it is the only carnival that brings together all the best and most known carnivals for them to parade together followed by cultural troupes from the Community of Nations. This year the Notting Hill Carnival of the UK, the Brazil Carnival, the Carnival from Trinidad and Tobago, the Dusseldorf Carnival from Germany, the Carnival from Indonesia and the Carnival from Italy have already all confirmed that they will again be in Seychelles to parade with cultural troupes from Seychelles, La Reunion, Mayotte, Madagascar, South Africa KwaZulu Natal, Bhutan, Mozambique, Zambia, South Africa Cape Town (Minstrels), Kenya, China, USA of America, South Africa Pretoria, South Korea, DerTour of Germany, the Sami People of Sweden, India, Bangladesh etc. The Seychelles will again this year witness an explosion of colour through culture from so many countries coming together in what is now accepted as being a unique event that is worth talking about as this event goes beyond politics, religion and the colour of the skin. The Carnaval International de Victoria of the Seychelles is this year being jointly co-hosted by Seychelles, La Reunion, Madagascar, Mayotte and South Africa KwaZulu Natal. The event is also seen as being a platform being used by Tourism Destinations for them to increase their visibility and ensure they remain relevant in the world of tourism. They all work to showcase their destination infront of all the contingent of International Press who fly to Seychelles from the four corners of the world to cover this unique carnival of carnivals.
