CUPE 3903 (Canadian Union of Public Employees), which represents the contract faculty, teaching assistants, and research assistants at York University, has passed a motion condemning the #Yorku administration for sanctioning SAIA! "Be it resolved that the CUPE 3903 executive committee condemn the unwarranted and unjust measures taken by the York University administration to revoke the student club status of Students Against Israeli Apartheid at York University and to ban York University alumnus, Hammam Farah, from the campus by invoking sections 3(1) and 5(1) of the Trespass to Property Act. These extraordinary actions are contrary to the principles of Academic Freedom and Freedom of Speech. The executive committee of CUPE 3903 urges VP Students Janet Morrison to reverse these decisions and to work with CUPE 3903, and other campus and community groups and organizations, to ensure that Academic Freedom is better respected by the York University administration in the future."
