Cabler Job Purpose Applicant will be responsible for cabling and termination of Cat3, Cat5, Cat6, CATV and various other wiring disciplines. The position includes the testing and troubleshooting of wiring problems. Duties and Responsibilities Installation of new data cables Maintenance of existing data cables Troubleshooting of problematic cable connections Maintaining tidy network cabinet environments Day to day patching of network cabinets following agreed upon protocol Ensure applicable standards are maintained Termination and testing of new cabling. Requirements Matric Certificate 2 yrs experience with installing network data cabling Knowledge of Krone, Molex Technologies Previous working experience with CAT3,5 and Analogue cable installations Must have knowledge of basic computer skills and be able to demonstrate good writing skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook very helpful. Must work well with little supervision individually and in a team environment. Must be knowledgeable in various wiring configurations and terminations. Technical skills and knowledge of telecommunications industry and/or installation. Knowledgeable in structured cabling and other advanced technologies Must have a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
