Cagsawa Trail Run 3 is a 21-km and 5km out-and-back race, starting from the exit gate of Cagsawa Church belfry of Brgy. Busay Daraga, Albay. The trail consists of uphill’s and downhill’s, with small streams to pass by in the beginning changing into rocky areas then to long sandy part then going back to the famous Cagsawa Ruins, the church that was destroyed by the 1814 eruption of Mayon Volcano. For almost two centuries the Cagsawa Ruins has stood as a symbol of Bicol region’s impressive landscape, rich history and the people’s strength and resiliency to face and to rise from the ravages of mother nature. This trail is also used for ATV adventures going to the foot of Mt.Mayon. The route will showcase magnificent and picturesque view of Mt. Mayon, Cagsawa Ruins belfry, black lava and more. For 21K, the first turn around point will be in the foot of Mt. Mayon with an elevation of 1,621 ft and 2.5KM accent to the foot of Mt. Mayon and a distance of 7 KM from the start/finish line. The second turn around point will be at KM 12 reaching black lava with an elevation of 1,109 ft. Trophies and valuable outdoors prizes will be awarded to the top 3 overall winners in both male and female categories. Finishers token will be given to all 21k and 5k runners. This is both ecotourism and an event for a cause. We endeavor to promote the locals tourist destination.
