Calder 727-291 delivered to Frontier, bought by Braniff. Shows here the controversial Sneaky Snake painted on the No. 1 engine nacelle. It was removed for the Bi-Centennial roll-out due to the snake resembling the terrorist group Patty Hearst was brainwashed into following. A single red stripe painted by a Braniff engineer replaced it. After Hearst was returned, and the group fizzled, Calders snake was put back on. Visit braniffpages/calder/408.html for the entire story. The third picture is the Calder 727 on tour in 1976.
