California State Prison-Los Angeles County now offers a Paws For Life dog-training program for inmates. In partnership with Karma Rescue, inmates work with rescued shelter dogs in a 10-week training course that includes basic crate and house training and commands. The program also provides an opportunity for inmates to contribute to society by giving the dogs the skills needed for a successful placement into permanent homes.
