Call for Entries: Sustainable Chicago Poster Design Contest: CITY IN A GARDEN The City of Chicago is pleased to present the inaugural Sustainable Chicago Poster Design contest, a competition celebrating the power of graphic design to affect positive change. The goal: To design a powerful, attention-grabbing, memorable poster, incorporating what it means for Chicago to be a sustainable city, bringing the Citys motto Urbs in horto (Latin for City in a Garden) to life. The design should be inspiring, engaging and ultimately, create a call to action for residents to make a difference in our community. The Criteria: Entries to this competition will be reviewed by the contest jury and by the public on the following criteria: Message: Effectively communicates the overall message of Sustainable Chicago 2015 - to make Chicago the most livable, competitive and sustainable city. Call to Action: Has clear impact and call to action Design: Is visually and intellectually stimulating SUBMISSIONS OPEN MONDAY, MARCH 17, 2014 AND CLOSE APRIL 4, 2014 Prizes: Grand Prize Winner (chosen by the judges) and Peoples Choice Winner (chosen by the public): Each winning entry will receive $1,000 cash Photo with the Mayor Displayed on JCDecaux bus shelters and City information panels in the City of Chicago Featured in the next Sustainable Chicago 2015 Progress Update Tour of City Hall Green Roof, led by Karen Weigert, Chief Sustainability Officer Printed and digitally displayed during the Awards event on April 22nd Featured in an online gallery on the City of Chicago website Garden Winners (3rd - 5th Place), chosen by the judges: Each winning entry will receive $500 cash Displayed on JCDecaux bus shelters and City information panels in the City of Chicago Featured in the next Sustainable Chicago 2015 Progress Update Tour of City Hall Green Roof, led by Karen Weigert, Chief Sustainability Officer Printed and digitally displayed during the Awards event on April 22nd Featured in an online gallery on the City of Chicago website Up to 15 Finalists, chosen by the judges: Displayed on JCDecaux bus shelters in the City of Chicago Tour of City Hall Green Roof, led by Karen Weigert, Chief Sustainability Officer Printed and digitally displayed during the Awards event on April 22nd.
