Call out to my local area (DC/MD/NOVA) OCR enthusiasts. Ive been tasked with attempting to create a small scale OCR on Marine Corps Base Quantico - Mainside that will be targeted at the active duty students of Marine Corps University, their families, and other AD members (executed the end of April/first week of May). Im in the process of setting up an initial planning conference with the heads of some of the separate organizations on base and have spoke with some of the major OCR companies about garnering support. Now, I am curious if any of you would be interested in brainstorming a course layout and other considerations with me sometime. I can easily bring you on base with me sometime and show you the area I am working with. While I am capable of coming up with a course on my own, I think it is always great to grab others insight, perspectives, and visualizations of what could be done. The overall goal is to develop an event that is a unique way for AD members to bond, foster some competition, and show them a different way they could develop an athletic event for their Marines to partake in when they return to the Fleet. The intention is not to go absolutely crazy with overhead construction, etc, (that is a possibility I can still use since I have the potential for Combat Engineer support), but develop something that others can see themselves recreating elsewhere with minimal resources if so desired.
