Call tomorrow! Dear Mr. Garner, Thank you for contacting me regarding Republican leadership within the House of Representatives, and more specifically, Rep. John Boehners (R-OH) position as Speaker of the House. As a member of the Tea Party Caucus, I share your belief in the importance of having proven conservative voices in Congressional leadership, and I appreciate the opportunity to hear your thoughts on this issue. On November 13, House Republicans – including newly elected GOP Members – met to select our conferences leadership for the upcoming 114th Congress. During this meeting, Rep. Boehner was selected as the Republican nominee for Speaker by a nearly unanimous voice vote. I believe it is important that House Republicans remain united in our fight against the Obama administrations liberal agenda and the Presidents consistent attempts to overstep his Constitutional authority. That is why my fellow Tea Party Caucus members, noted conservatives such as Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), and every single Republican Member of the Tennessee Congressional delegation supported Rep. Boehners nomination. He will formally be re-elected as Speaker during the first meeting of the House in January 2015. I want you to know that I am committed to holding Speaker Boehner and every other member of the Republican leadership accountable. Moreover, as your representative I have not been afraid to go against Republican leadership. That is why I voted against the so-called fiscal cliff deal that failed to address our nations spending problem, supported Rep. Justin Amashs amendment to defund the NSAs mass surveillance program, and opposed raising our nations debt ceiling without spending cuts. Whether it is the outrageous targeting of conservative groups by the IRS, the Obama administrations refusal to secure our borders and enforce our immigration laws, or the disastrous rollout of Obamacare, Americans have seen the results of the Presidents failed policies. Now, more than ever, conservatives must stand together so we can oppose the Presidents big government agenda and work to enact conservative solutions to our nations problems. Sincerely, Signature Diane Black Member of Congress
