Calle Dos Cinco Historic Capitol Hill is a diverse commercial district boasting some of southwest Oklahoma City’s best flavors, educational and social services, and shopping experiences. Located on SW 25th between Shield Boulevard and Walker, Historic Capitol Hill Main Street is home to “Grill on the Hill”, named as one of the Gazette’s Best Restaurants in Southwest Oklahoma City; “El Nacional”, the state’s largest Spanish-language newspaper; the “Capitol Hill Beacon”, a weekly newspaper in publication since 1936; as well as Community Action Agency and the Oklahoma City Community College’s Capitol Hill Center. This district – located on what was originally known as “Commerce Street” – was one of Oklahoma City’s premier shopping districts but over time suffered from the impact of urban sprawl. Today you will find a renewed spirit spurred by vibrant cultural diversity and enhanced by both public and private investment in businesses and streetscapes.
