Calling all Point Blue staff, volunteers, and friends with some bird survey experience! We invite you to join us for our annual Carrizo Plains Le Conte’s Thrasher breeding season monitoring blitz from February 18 through March 4. We will be conducting area search and simple vegetation surveys. We will provide onsite training, food, and lodging. Transport from Petaluma and back will be offered on select dates. Volunteers are welcome for any amount of time-- a 2-day minimum commitment preferred. Point Blue Ecologist, Jim Tietz will be on site for the entire two weeks coordinating surveys and volunteers. Don’t miss this opportunity to do field work on the unique and beautiful Carrizo National Monument in the Southern Great Valley. Contact Jim Tietz ([email protected]) to sign up or get more information.” Photos by Geoff Geupel, Point Blue Emerging Programs and Partnerships Group Director: Bureau of Land Management Historic Ranch House accommodations; Pronghorn Antelope in the Carrizo Plains
