Calling all horse people, my gelding has experienced rapid weight loss and edema in his underbelly and private area, cleaned his sheath area thinking he may have a stone or debri there, vet says it sounds like protein deficiency....we have him in and he is eating hay and some grain. We had not been feeding much grain, they are all big and the rains have got the fields growing, so they have been grazing. Anyone have anything like this happen??, he is also labored breathing. Vet says to give it time, but he is my baby.....
