Calling all horseriders in the Dearne Valley area that have enjoyed uninterrupted use of the riverbank between Bolton on Dearne and Adwick on Dearne until last weekend when the Environment Agency gated the access off. I have been in contact with the Public Rights of Way officer at Barnsley MBC who has advised that we can apply to have this route added to the Definitive Map subject to us being able to provide evidence of use over the last 20 years. I don’t mind being the lead applicant subject to being able to gather the following additional information: a) How long have individuals used this route? b) Are you willing to provide a statement to support the application?
