Calling all pet parents and their 4 legged companions!! We are excited to be teaching a 31/2 week mentorship between the dates of October 8th and November 5th. Due to the hands on nature of our programs we will be scheduling canine and feline clients for our instructors to demonstrate on and for our students to practice their intake, evaluation, trust building and low stress handling skills along with practicing various therapeutic massage techniques. These will be full sessions and free of charge. All that we ask is a scheduled commitment and permission to photograph and film these sessions. Due to the length and intensity we are looking for some of the clients to come in multiple times to show progression of the therapy given. We are looking for a mix of easy going compliant dogs for initial practice along with relatively healthy athletic and sports dogs. In addition more challenging as follows. Puppies-8 weeks to 6 months- all personalities Energetic adolescent dogs 6 months to 2 years lacking impulse control Pushy overconfident dogs Shy and fearful dogs Dogs who are reactive or aversive to touch or people in general. Senior dogs Dogs scheduled for surgery or are post surgical Dogs who have a recently diagnosed injury Dogs with chronic diagnosed musculoskeletal issues. Dogs with terminal illness Dogs who would like to learn to swim Cats who are ok with traveling and fairly ok with handling by strangers Un-socialized dogs or those lacking training All participants will be screened for participation to ensure safety of students and for the participating animals. We never schedule an animal that will have a difficult time participating for our learning purposes. If the dog is shy and/or fearful we do our best to create an environment that is as stress free as possible. We reserve the right to stop any session at any time if we feel it is too difficult for the dog at that time. We will also be scheduling clients for our Level One program being held from November 8-15.
