Calling all racing fans! The Quad-City Times Plus 60 Club and Trailways Travel have planned a great trip to the Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway for two exciting nights of auto racing. We will leave Davenport from CASI, 1035 W. Kimberly Road, at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22. There will be stops in Muscatine, Wapello and Mediapolis, Iowa (where there will be a break on our own at the 61 Chop House Restaurant). Then it’s on to Burlington, Fort Madison and Keokuk, Iowa, as well as Quincy, Ill. There will be various other stops en route on our own. We will arrive in Knoxville, Tenn., at 10 p.m., for our overnight accommodations at the Comfort Suites. The rest of the evening will be on our own. On day two, Friday, Aug., 23, after breakfast at our hotel, we will depart for the Bristol Motor Speedway. We will experience the Food City 250 Nationwide Series race. After the race, we will return to our hotel for an evening on our own. On day three, Saturday, Aug. 24, after we have breakfast at the hotel, we will leave for the speedway again and have the opportunity to enjoy a Track Walk Pass. We will see the Irwin Tools Night Race that evening. After the race, we will again return to our hotel and spend the rest of the evening on our own. On day four, Sunday, Aug. 25, we will begin our day with breakfast at the hotel at 9 a.m. After that, we will load the motorcoach and depart Knoxville. There will be various breaks en route home, all on our own. Our arrival back in Davenport will be at 2 a.m. Our other travelers will be departing at their boarding locations as we make our way to Davenport. The cost of this trip is $1,095 for a regular single, $885 for a regular double, $815 for a regular triple and $780 for a regular quad. With a Plus 60 or CASI membership, the cost is reduced by $30 per category.
