Calling all the Shiba people out there—Fuji’s waiting for you!!! Surrendered by his owner for “no time”, Fuji came to Manhattan ACC with up to date vet papers, dog training certificate, s/n certificate and his pedigree papers! Already neutered, Fuji has his bags packed and he’s ready to go! But as any Shiba person knows, he has not been happy sitting in a cage, surrounded by barking dogs, rarely getting out to do his business, and feeling tired, scared, and hungry. So when it came time for his behavioral eval, Fuji did his best and got 1’s and 2’s on almost all the items. But when that strange dog came into the room, Fuji drew the line and told everyone he wasn’t happy. Ring a bell with the shiba people? These are smart, intelligent little guys who need owners experienced with the “prince” type. But once he sees you as his owner, his keeper, his provider, there is no more loyal little dog. But ACC has decided there’s no more time for Fuji and they’ve put him on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. And on top of that, he can only leave if pulled by a New Hope rescue. So if you’re sitting out there saying to yourself “I know exactly what Fuji’s trying to say!”—step up now to foster or adopt by applying to New Hope rescues.
