Calling on the power of Facebook! On February 3, my husband, Ron Lieber, will publish a book called The Opposite of Spoiled, a deeply reported and researched guide to instilling sound financial knowledge and values in kids. The book is full of tips on handling everything from tooth fairy $ to iPhone purchases to tough kid/money questions: at what age, if ever, should you tell your kid how much you make? If one sibling gets the Hunter boots she wants, can you deny the other the carnivorous plant terrarium he craves? Should allowance be dependent on doing chores? In our era of declining book sales and distracted reading, every book needs all the help it can get. If you can order, or better yet, pre-order the book, that would be wonderful-- pre-orders are key in publishing.
