Cam had another great day today! He keeps amazing me with all the ways he is trying to use his right hand. He had OT today and she was showing us all the different splints to focus on different functions and muscle groups. He will have five different ones to wear when we are done. He was grabbing yarn pompous and throwing them into a barrel today! This is amazing for many reasons 1 he has sensory issues and he actually handled that great 2 he was able to open and grasp them easily and 3 he could release at the right time to get it in the barrel. She did some other tests with him and he doesnt bend his thumb in the joint so the splint for that is solid to the joint so he can build up those muscles and maybe get a pincher grasp. I love how amazing this OT is. She also is a specialist in food aversions and wants to try to work on some of his and give us ideas. I just wish we could see her more than once a week. He has homework so we will be doing that every day until we see her next week. It is so amazing to see hi do something he hasnt done in years or ever before and it seems like its something new daily. I hope this continues for a long time.
