Campaign against discrimination of girl child launched THOUBAL, Oct 31: Campaign on Stop Discrimination against girl child was launched yesterday at Methodist Church, Molnoi Area Campus in Chandel District under the theme ‘Let’s make gender equality a lived reality.’ The campaign was organised by Rural Education & Action for Change, Manipur (REACH-M) under the sponsorship of Action Aid India. During the campaign, K Moikham Ronglo, Secretary All Tribal Women Organisation Chandel District; Hechin Haokip, Secretary Centre for Women & Girls and Tongpao Haokip, Director REACH_M spoke on the topics about Gender Equality and practice of discrimination against girls child in the male dominated society. While speaking as the guest speaker of the campaign, Rev Dr Kim Vaiphei- Haokip, Director Sunday School Methodist Church in India, North East & Member All Manipur Christian Organisation said that discrimination of girl child began from their own family where the parents discriminated their child and prefer boy over a girl child in providing education and health care. However, in the context of Bible, God created man and woman equal.
